OFFICER WILLIAM EZRA “BILLY” STILTNER, 46 years of age and a Buchanan County Deputy Sheriff of the Leetown Section of Grundy, VA, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 in the line of duty in the Deskins section of Vansant, Virginia. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Granville Burns and Pearly Jeanette Stiltner. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Harman Freewill Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, a 1983 graduate of Grundy Senior High School and served as Deputy Sheriff for 8-years for the Buchanan County Sheriffs Department in Grundy, Virginia Billy was a former Little League Basketball Coach for Harman, played Baseball and Basketball for the Grundy Golden Wave. He loved hunting, fishing and digging ginseng.

Mr. Stiltner is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Stiltner Stiltner, Grundy, VA, 1-Daughter: Anna Marie and husband Jeffery Stiltner, Grundy, VA, 1-Son: Steven Ray Stiltner of the Home, 2-Grandchildren: Emily Jade Stiltner, Grundy, VA, Morgan Dawn Stiltner, Grundy, VA, 2-Brothers: Michael David Colley, Richlands, VA, Jerry Dean Colley, Hurley, VA

Funeral Services for OFFICER WILLIAM EZRA “BILLY” STILTNER will be conducted Friday, March 18, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the Harman Freewill Baptist Church, Harman, VA, with Revs. Ronnie Sliger, Josh Bowman, Eddie Wilson and Mike Honaker officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Harman Freewill Baptist Church, Harman, VA, Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be the Virginia State Police.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Employees of the Buchanan County Sheriffs Department, Everett Blankenship, Ricky Rife, Brad Vandyke, Charles Bartley, Steven Looney, Bryan Looney and Donnie Stiltner.

Full Law Enforcement rites will be conducted at the cemetery by members of the Virginia State Police Honor Guard.
