Sheriffs Help Launch Video Promoting Virginia’s “Move Over” Law

Governor McAuliffe unveiled a new public service announcement this morning in Richmond with Southampton Sheriff Jack Stutts promoting Virginia’s “Move Over” law, which can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/user/vspvideos. The New Kent County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Wakie Howard helped in the production of the video.

Video message: If you’re texting, you’re not driving. Texting while driving is a serious problem on America’s roads. Seventy-one percent of young people say they have sent a text while driving. As a result thousands of people die every year in crashes related to distracted driving.
