Jack Weisenburger is in his fourth term as Sheriff of the City of Bristol, VA. He has thirty-five years of continuous law enforcement experience and service to the citizens of Bristol.

Sheriff Weisenburger is a graduate of John S. Battle High School, Virginia Highlands Community College and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Bluefield College. He is a graduate of the 85th class of the National Sheriff’s Institute Executive Leadership and Development Program. He is certified by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services in both Law Enforcement and Corrections.

Sheriff Weisenburger currently serves as a member of the Mt. Rogers Alcohol Safety Action Program Advisory Board; Chairman of Southwest Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy Board of Directors; member of the Supreme Court of Virginia Drug Court Advisory Council; Immediate Past President of the Virginia Sheriffs’ Association, and Past President of the Virginia Sheriffs’ Institute.

Sheriff Weisenburger is active in the community. He has served on the Board of Directors of United Way of Bristol; Past President of the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Bristol Board of Directors; volunteer with the domestic violence prevention agency Abuse Alternatives, Inc., Area 10 Special Olympics and an active member of St. Anne Catholic Church and Council # 6695 of the Knights of Columbus.
