“The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association is pleased to support Governor McAuliffe’s appointment of Judge Jane Marum Roush to the Virginia Supreme Court,” said VSA President and Lunenburg County Sheriff Arthur Townsend. “Judge Roush has had a distinguished legal career and is known for her command of the law.”

Judge Roush was in private practice before her appointment to the Fairfax County Circuit Court in 1993. She has regularly been asked by the Supreme Court of Virginia to handle cases in other jurisdictions. In 2003, she presided over the trial of Lee Boyd Malvo, one of the ‘Beltway Snipers’, following the 2002 rampage that left 10 dead and others injured.

“Judge Roush is a highly regarded jurist and well-respected member of the legal community,” said Fairfax County Sheriff Stacey Kincaid. “I commend Governor McAuliffe for appointing her to the Commonwealth’s highest court.”
