Deputies teach pool safety at Suffolk YMCA camp

Suffolk YMCA pool safetyDeputies Tommy Salmon and Paul Burch explained the importance of pool safety with an attentive group of kids at Suffolk YMCA’s Camp Arrowhead. The Suffolk Sheriff’s Office, partnering with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s (CPSC) Pool Safely campaign, is making pool safety a priority by advocating the adoption of simple water safety steps. CPSC’s Pool Safely Campaign is a first-of-its-kind national public education effort to reduce child drowning and near-drowning and entrapments in swimming pools and spas. The students were very interested in our program and signed a pledge to be safe while swimming and playing around pools and other bodies of water.
