Sheriff Woody announces ‘V3’ certification
Sheriff Woody is pleased to announce the certification of the Richmond Sheriff’s Office by the Virginia Department of Veteran’s Affairs as a Virginia Values Veterans (V3) certified agency. The V3 Program is one which assists in raising awareness of resources available for veteran recruiting, hiring, and retention.
“I am proud that the Richmond Sheriff’s Office has reached this milestone and is now fully certified and trained to begin offering opportunities to veterans in the Commonwealth of Virginia,” said Sheriff Woody. “These individuals are some of the most knowledgeable and skilled people in the work force today, and having these resources available will enable us to hire and place them in positions where they will not only succeed, but continue doing what they do best – serving and protecting their fellow citizens.”
This certification allows the Richmond Sheriff’s Office access to best practices in the recruitment, hiring, and retention veterans, as well as continuous training for recertification at no cost to the agency. The Richmond Sheriff’s Office is proud to offer this increased opportunity to Virginia’s veterans and encourages all former military personnel to apply.
