Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office collect 3,000 pounds in food donations from concealed carry safety course

The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office offered its it’s first Concealed Carry & Handgun Safety Course last February. The three-hour class was designed to educate local residents in handgun safety, fundamentals and concealed carry law. The only cost to attend the class was a non-perishable food donation to the Chesterfield Food Bank. As the course’s one-year anniversary approaches, the office pleased to announce that as of last Wednesday, food donations total over 3,000 pounds of food that has been donated by the 350 course participants. If you or someone you know is interested in this course, you can contact Sergeant R. Phillips at 804-768-7505. Please continue to help the sheriff’s office educate citizens in handgun safety while providing meals for those in need.
