Sheriff Joe McLaughlin is pleased to announce the graduation of three members of the New Kent Sheriff’s Office from the Metro Richmond Public Safety Leadership Academy on February 10, 2017.

Lt. Joey Mclaughlin, Sgt. Scott Carnell and Sgt. Ryan Shobe attended the training along with 53 other public safety professionals from the Metro Richmond area.

This week-long academy is the only one of its type in the United States and is open to law enforcement and fire/rescue personnel from the Richmond region. The training was held at the Henrico Division of Police Training Academy on Parham Road. The curriculum included lectures and scenario based exercises with guest instructors from across the Commonwealth.

Congratulations to these gentlemen for their hard work and for successfully completing the 3rd Metro Richmond Public Safety Leadership Academy.
