The Voice of Virginia’s Sheriffs & Deputies

Every employee of the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office and officers of the Warrenton Police Department received Thanksgiving turkeys and all the trimmings thanks to local churches and community organizations.

As part of what must have been a complicated coordinated effort, Read Transportation of Culpeper donated a refrigerated trailer for the turkeys, which was hauled to WalMart and then to the sheriff’s office by George Smallwood at Sea Bees Trucking of Bealeton.

WalMart and Trennis in Catlett helped Hearts Delight Baptist Church, Mt Pleasant Baptist Church, St James Baptist Church, Grace Episcopal Church, Midland United Methodist Church, Mt Horeb United Methodist Church, Oak Shade Baptist Church, Zoar Baptist Church and Liberty United Methodist Church in this effort.

Pastors Tyronne Green, Gayle Porias, Delbert Roberts, Jesse Jones, Ann Slaughter and many volunteers helped distribute the turkey dinners to the deputies, police officers and staff.

The sheriff’s office can’t begin to express enough thanks to these congregations for their thoughts and prayers, the businesses who helped and the many volunteers for their generosity. Many dinners were given to other needy families in the community.
