Roanoke County deputies spread Christmas cheer to foster children

Roanoke County Social Services reached out to the community and other county departments in an attempt to find sponsors of some of the foster children in their care. These children become the responsibility of social service very often, sometimes daily in the larger agencies. Sadly, that need frequently arrives on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If it were not for the generosity of the public and government employees, these children would not have gifts. Sgt. Denise Ory recently spearheaded an effort to collect gifts and money to from members of the Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office to give three foster children the Christmas they deserve. With the increasing generosity, the office hopes to sponsor at least four foster children next years.
