Fauquier County Sheriff Robert P. Mosier and staff hosted a Faith Based Safety Seminar training for local churches and houses of worship.  The overwhelming response was attended by leaders and members of over 60 churches from the community. Discussions ranged from violence in places of worship, planning for violence, personal safety and response to active shooter situation, among other topics.

Sheriff Mosier and Warrenton Police Chief Louis Battle opened the seminar and Sheriff’s Lieutenant Rick MacWelch and Master Deputy Art Culbertson presented the training.  This topic is important, we have all seen the violence in churches and places of worship in our country in the recent past.  This training was put together in part due to many requests from the community over the past few months.  The training seminar was well received and follow up training will be provided.  Thank you to everyone involved and we will continue to stay together in this endeavor.  The training seminar was held at the Warrenton Community Center on Thursday night, January 11, 2018.
