Sheriffs Flooded Halls of Pocahontas Building to Call for Pay Raise
Virginia Deputy Sheriffs and Sheriffs gathered in Richmond on Thursday, February 15, for Deputy Sheriffs and Sheriffs Day at the Capitol. These deputy sheriffs and sheriffs flooded the halls to meet with their legislators and call for pay raises.

The group also had an opportunity to meet with Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax who reflected on the important work Virginia Sheriffs perform each and every day, placing their lives on the line.
Attorney General Mark Herring also took time to meet and greet with the Deputy Sheriffs and Sheriffs and to discuss the Virginia Sheriffs’ Association legislative agenda.
The day closed with special introductions, including Delegate Lashrecse Aird presenting HJ 274, commending Sheriff Vanessa R. Crawford for her leadership, diligence and service.
