For the eleventh consecutive year, the Hampton Sheriff’s Office has partnered with The Easter Bunny Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Eleanor and Sam Meiner of Winter Park, Florida. The foundation partners with law enforcement agencies across the country providing personal visits and a toy to children in hospitals and pediatric wards. With children of the Peninsula receiving care at Norfolk’s CHKD, Hampton Deputies escorted the Easter Bunny to Healthy Families Partnerships in Hampton and the Downtown Hampton Child Development Center. Hundreds of children were so excited to received plush new bunny toys from the Deputies and high fives from the Easter Bunny.
