In honor of National Police Week and the 101 law enforcement personnel who have lost their lives since Jan. 1, 2017 to May 7, 2018, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office will plant a Dogwood tree in the front of the Sheriff’s office. There will be an appropriate and permanent plaque placed in front of the tree commemorating this special event. The ceremony will be brief and will not require county officials, or any other attendees, to be away from their duties, but for a minimal amount of time…considering the solemn occasion.

Law enforcement personnel from around the state will be in attendance to honor our Brothers and Sisters who wear the badge. Members of the community will be invited as will the Bedford County Board of Supervisors and Bedford County Administration.

The Boys with a Dream group will be the special guests of the sheriff’s office and will recreate their tribute to law enforcement offered in a moving ceremony in the Farmers Market in the summer of 2016.
