Sheriffs are invited to a meeting with Allyson Tysinger, Virginia Attorney General’s Office, Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 100 PM – 5:00 PM. Location – TBD.
The purpose of the meeting is for Mrs. Tysinger to discuss and provide clarification for the following topics:
- Emergency and Temporary Custody Orders
- Roles of Magistrates
- Jurisdictions of law enforcement
- Special Justices
- Time-line controversies between medical evaluation/treatment verses transportation to a behavioral health facility
- Unlawful detainment issues related to the time lines and alternative transportation providers
All are welcome to attend to take advantage of this presentation.
