The Virginia Sheriff Association sends deep condolences to the family and friends of William M. “Bill” Faulconer.

Bill entered into eternal rest on June 23, 2018 at his home, after a long illness.  He was married for 58 years to Ann Dunaway Faulconer.  He was the son of the late Delbert “Red” and the late Virginia Dean Faulconer, and preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Lynne.

Bill graduated from OCHS in 1958.  He was a Virginia State Trooper for 12 years and an investigator for five years with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.  Bill was sheriff of Orange county for 8 years.  He later retired from Hanover Sheriff’s Department.  Bill was an avid outdoorsman.  He had a true love for hunting and fishing.

Bill leaves many friends and family, his Aunt Dorothy A. Faulconer, of Culpeper, Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester Dunaway and his wife, Sue, John Dunaway and his wife, Rose, Lewis Dunaway and his wife, Sue, Wayne Dunaway and his wife June, Bruce Dunaway and his wife Barbara, and Larry Dunaway and his wife Jamie and their families.

The funeral service will be Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem U.M.C.  in Unionville.  The service will be officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Smith and Rev. Ralph Satter.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethlehem U.M.C. Church, 23258 Village Rd., Unionville, VA  22567.  Services have been entrusted to Preddy Funeral Home of Orange, Va.
