Thursday, June 28, 2018, the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office was honored and privileged to take part in the memorial services for Judge Ernest P. Gates along with members of the Chesterfield Fire Department, Chesterfield County Police, and Virginia State Police. He lived his life in service to this nation as a World War II veteran and the citizens of Chesterfield County as deputy commissioner of the revenue, deputy treasurer, commonwealth’s attorney, county attorney, counsel for the school board and judge for the 12th Judicial Circuit.
