Arlington County, VA – On Monday July 9th 2018 the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office partnered with INOVA Blood Donor Services and hosted the fourth annual Arlington County Public Safety Blood Drive. The blood drive was held in the Arlington County Detention Facility’s Lobby and Roll Call Room. Together, they were able to collect a total of 40 units of blood. Crushing last year’s total (29) by eleven!

The partnership between INOVA Blood Donor Services and the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office began back in 2015, after the World Police and Fire Games and has continued through today.

INOVA Blood Donor Services relies heavily on high school students for the majority of their blood donations and during the summer months, when there is no school in session, blood donations drop significantly. For that reason, the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office has always conducted their blood drives during the summer months.
