Newport News Sheriff’s Office to Raise Money for Project Lifesaver
The Newport News Sheriff’s Office has two events coming up to raise money for its Project Lifesaver program.
The first is September 9, 2018. Classic cars, customized bikes, tricked-out trucks and more will be on display at the 7th Annual Car and Bike Show at Todd Stadium.
Registration is now open for owners who want to show off their rides. The fee is $20 per entry plus two pet food items for the Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter.
To pre-register, click the link for the sheriff’s office website or e-mail [email protected] for an application or to get more information. On-site registration is from 10 a.m. to noon. Viewing and judging for trophies like the Sheriff’s Award, People’s Choice and the Project Lifesaver Top Pick takes place from noon to 2 p.m.
Just want to look? The show is free for spectators, although we will gratefully accept donations to Project Lifesaver and the animal shelter.
There will be music, door prizes, a smash car and more. Note: In case of bad weather, the show will take place on September 23, 2018.
The second event is the fully escorted motorcycle ride on October 14, 2018. Our deputies will escort bikers from Newport News Park, along the scenic Colonial Parkway, passing the York River and through other scenic areas of the Peninsula before returning to the park for a hot dog social, music, auction and more.
The registration cost is $20 per bike and $5 per passenger.
You can register on site beginning at 9 a.m. Kickstands ride at 11 a.m.
Again, pre-register by downloading the flyer and form on the sheriff’s office website or e-mail Lt. Patrick-Gross at [email protected] or call her at 757-926-3991.
The money raised during these two events allows the Newport News Sheriff’s Office to provide the Project Lifesaver program free to its enrolled clients.
So mark your calendar to come and join the fun at the Car and Bike Show on September 9 and the Motorcycle Ride on October 14.
