Increased phone scam attempts have been reported in Franklin County in the past few day, says FCSO spokesperson Deputy H. L. Nolen. Nolen stated, “Just hang up. If you are threatened with arrest, told to send money, to receive money or asked for personal information, please, just hang up. Also, talk to members of your family that could be susceptible and make sure they know what to do should they receive a call from a potential scammer. The message is simple, JUST HANG UP.”
