Beginning this Monday, Oct. 1, to further enhance the safety and security of all persons conducting business in the Virginia Beach Courthouse, the Sheriff’s Office will periodically conduct random security screenings of all normally “exempt personnel” entering the building including, but not limited to, attorneys, court reporters, volunteers and anyone who has been granted a pass to bypass the screening process. This will not include or affect Courthouse staff whose permanent work assignment is located within the Courthouse complex. We appreciate your patience and ask that you give yourself additional time to get through security when entering the building.
