Line of Duty Death – WPD Officer Hunter Edwards

The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association is deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of Winchester Police Department Officer Hunter Edwards.  While responding to a call of a fight just a few blocks away on S. Loudoun street Saturday night, Officer Edwards was fatally injured in a single vehicle crash.

Officer Edwards served the Winchester Police Department Patrol Division for four years. He was also a member of the SWAT team and had served on the Civil Disturbance Unit.

The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association commends Officer Hunter Edwards for his bravery and sends its deepest condolences to his family and friends, including his wife, Tara, and 4 year old step son.
