The Lee County Sheriff’s Office provided 10 kids with a early Christmas on Wednesday, December 12th, 2018. “This is the 2nd Annual ‘Shop with a Cop’ we have done”, said Sheriff Parsons.  Ten kids from local schools were chosen to participate and paired up with 10 officers to purchase gifts up to $100.00 at our local Wal-Mart. Not only did most of the children purchase gifts for themselves, they used their money to purchase gifts for their parents and siblings. The children were also given a stocking stuffed with goodies worth 25.00 each.  Sheriff Parsons and his employee’s would like to say “Thank you to donating to such a wonderful cause” to the following sponsors: Wal-Mart for giving the children a hat and feeding them pizza, cupcakes, chips and drinks; Monetary donations from local businesses: Old Virginia Log Homes, Subway, Pizza King, Liberty Sport and Pawn, Outreach Church of God Youth Program and anonymous donations from Lee County citizens. Sheriff Parsons said, “My officers enjoy doing this as much as the kids do and hope that the children we reached this year will have a better Christmas.”

If you would like to be a part of this program in the years to come please contact Major Jimmy Woodard or Sgt. Bobby Slusher at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
