Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office to provide free meals for federal workers and their families during shutdown

The Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Summit Food Service will be providing free meals to federal workers who have been furloughed or working without pay and their families starting this Monday, Jan. 21.
Resources permitting, the program – Dinner with a Deputy – will be ongoing during the duration of the partial federal government shutdown. Dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Training Academy located at 411 Integrity Way on the following dates, if the shutdown continues:

  • Monday, Jan. 21
  • Tuesday, Jan. 22
  • Monday, Jan. 28
  • Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Friday, Feb. 1

Additional dates will be announced on Facebook and Twitter if the shutdown continues and as facility availability and resources allow.
