Funeral arrangements for Trooper Lucas B. Dowell, who was killed in the line of duty Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, in Cumberland County, are as follows. All sworn and civilian employees are welcome to attend either or both of the ceremonies.

Reception
A reception for family, friends, and law enforcement will be held at Chilhowie Christian Church immediately following the burial.
Directions to Chilhowie Christian Church
Southbound Interstate 81: Take Exit 35. Turn right onto Whitetop Road. At the stoplight, turn right to head north on Lee Highway 11. Turn left onto Apple Valley Road. The church will be on the left.
Northbound Interstate 81: Take Exit 35. Turn left onto Whitetop Road. At the stoplight, turn right to head north on Lee Highway 11. Turn left onto Apple Valley Road. The church will be on the left.
Directions to the Cemetery from the Church
From Apple Valley Road, turn right to head south on Lee Highway 11. Turn left at stoplight onto Whitetop Road. Proceed approximately 4 miles and turn right onto St. James Road. The church cemetery is on your left.
