Hampton Deputies Plunge for Special Olympics

Hampton Sheriff Deputies braved the frigid sub 40 degree waters in February at the Virginia Beach oceanfront to raise money for Special Olympics of Virginia at the 27th Annual Polar Plunge. Hampton Deputies and staff collected an all-time agency high of $4,055. The 2019 event marks Hampton’s fourteenth consecutive year donating for a total of $27,960. Special Olympics empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition. The huge fundraising event surpassed the $1 Million mark again in 2019.
