The Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) is pleased to announce the upcoming Procurement Disaster Assistance Team Training led by experts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Office of the Chief Counsel the week of April 8-12.

With six offerings statewide, the invitation to attend this half-day course is extended to emergency managers, procurement officers, finance controllers or those responsible for making procurement decisions on behalf of state agencies, localities and private nonprofit organizations (PNP) during disasters. The training course is a proactive measure that will spark invaluable procurement conversations ahead of the next disaster, with the goal of being eligible for reimbursement after federally declared disasters.

The course offerings are as follows:

April 8

Those interested in attending must officially register for the course on VDEM’s COVLC website at https://covlc.virginia.gov/Default.aspx and search for “PDAT” in the search bar. First time users must request a username by emailing the VDEM Help Desk at [email protected] or by calling 804-897-9995. An email will be sent to all registrants with specific location information in the days prior to the training.
