The Hampton Sheriff’s Office sponsored its 15th Annual Hampton Senior Celebration in May to celebrate Older Americans month. The event was initiated by Hampton Sheriff, B. J. Roberts to recognize and show his appreciation to the older population of Hampton. Queen Street North Worship Center was the site as over 550 senior citizens emerged on the beautiful and spacious edifice for an afternoon of food, song and fellowship. The event was free with a complimentary lunch and safety information bags courtesy of the Hampton Sheriff’s Office. Hampton Triad and Hampton Parks and Recreation are co-sponsors of the event. Over a dozen elected officials and city leaders joined Sheriff Roberts, Deputies and staff, Firefighters, Police Officers and Triad members as they served lunch to the large crowd.
