Hampton Sheriff’s Office Recruits Graduate from Training Academy

The Hampton Sheriff’s Office proudly announces our latest recruits to graduate from the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy (HRCJTA) in Newport News. They are members of Class 19-2 which completed thirteen weeks of training in August. The class of 25 deputies represents agencies from throughout Hampton Roads and the Middle Peninsula. Deputies must complete more than 488 hours of training that requires each of them to master 424 state mandates of law enforcement training. The thirteen weeks of rigorous testing and training in the extreme summer temperatures included defensive tactics, firearms and Emergency Vehicle Operator Class (EVOC) to name a few.
