Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail Director of Security of Operations Loses Life While On Duty

The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association is deeply saddened to announce that Major Angelanette Moore, Director of Security of Operations, Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, lost her life while on duty the evening of Thursday, January 23.

While details have not been been released regarding the circumstances, Superintendent of the VPRJ Colonel Roy Witham provided the following statement:

“Words cannot properly express what Team VPRJ is feeling today. We are all profoundly saddened by the untimely passing of Maj. Moore,” said Col. Roy Witham, superintendent of VPRJ. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with Maj. Moore’s family during this tragic time, and we will continue to provide them with assistance as they grieve her loss.”

The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association sends its condolences to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail as well as the family, friends and colleagues of Major Angelanette Moore.
