VSA Statement on the Passing of U.S. Capitol Police Officer William “Billy” Evans

Richmond, VA – The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association grieves the loss of U.S. Capitol Police Officer William “Billy” Evans, an 18-year veteran who succumbed to his injuries this afternoon after he and a fellow officer were injured during senseless acts of violence in Washington, DC.

The VSA extends its deepest condolences to the Capitol Police family, friends and loved ones of Officer Evans.

VSA also sends its thoughts and prayers for healing for the other officer who is recovering from injuries incurred in the line of duty.
