~Promoting officers’ safety and health as well as ceremonies honoring those fallen officers whose names have been recently added to the Memorial~

The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association is proud to join in commemorating National Police Week, this week May 9 – 15, 2021. All week the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum will deliver virtual programs to keep current officers safe and healthy, as well as ceremonies to honor those fallen officers whose names have been recently added to the Memorial.

As of April 2021, another 394 names of the men and women who were lost during last year joined the nearly 22,000 names previously memorialized on the wall.

VSA invites you to mark your calendar for the 33rd Annual Candlelight Vigil, happening virtually this Thursday, May 13 at 8:00 p.m. (Eastern) and as well in-person events planned for October 13-17, 2021 in Washington, DC to offer the same respect, honor, remembrance, and community support as National Police Week, while allowing law enforcement, survivors, and citizens to gather and pay tribute to those who gave their lives in the line of duty.
