Nearly 200 sheriffs and deputy sheriffs gathered for the VSA Legislative Day Wednesday, January 18th, to discuss critical issues facing the law enforcement community with legislators and other sheriffs from across the Commonwealth.
VSA sheriffs and deputy sheriffs started the day with coffee with Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears to discuss public safety and criminal justice issues.
After a day of rounding the halls of the Pocahontas Building, sheriffs and deputies met with the Honorable Jason Miyares, Attorney General of Virginia, to discuss issues facing sheriffs’ offices across the Commonwealth.
VSA encourages its member sheriffs and deputy sheriffs to continue to communicate frequently with their legislators during the 2023 Virginia General Assembly to provide information regarding critical issues to the law enforcement community.
