The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association wishes to express its deepest sympathy and condolences to SRO Corporal Kevin Stubbs’s family, friends and the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office upon the death of Cpl. Stubbs who passed away on May 30, 2023. Stubbs was employed at the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office for 16 years. He served as a jailor before being promoted to the position of patrol deputy. He was then assigned to the position of school resource officer for Sussex County Elementary School where he worked until his passing. He loved working with the children and making a positive impact on the community. The funeral will be on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 4 pm at Sussex Central High School – 21394 Sussex Drive Stony Creek, Virginia 23882.
