Virginia Sheriffs’ Association
The Voice of Virginia’s Sheriffs & Deputies

It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of retired Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office Master Deputy Terrence Troyer on September 26, following a medical emergency. Master Deputy Troyer dedicated 26 years of exemplary service to the City of Chesapeake before his retirement just last month. He was well-known for his warm smile, infectious laugh, and kind words that brightened the day of everyone he encountered.

The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association extends its deepest condolences to the Troyer family during this incredibly difficult time. Master Deputy Troyer’s legacy of compassion and professionalism will forever remain in the hearts of his colleagues and the community he served. There are no words to capture the sense of loss we feel, but we will always remember and honor his commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
