The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association (VSA) congratulates the newly elected sheriffs who were chosen in special elections across the Commonwealth on Tuesday. These leaders bring a wealth of dedication and experience to their communities, ensuring continued excellence in public safety.
John Jones, Executive Director of the VSA, extended his congratulations, “The VSA congratulates and extends its best wishes to those elected to the office of sheriff in special elections around the state on Tuesday. We are pleased to welcome them to the Virginia Sheriffs’ Association and look forward to their leadership.”

Salem: Sheriff-elect Christopher “Chris” Shelor
Suffolk: Sheriff David Miles
Virginia Beach: Sheriff Rocky Holcomb
In addition, VSA congratulates Sheriff David Rosado, recently sworn in as Sheriff of Chesapeake, succeeding retired Sheriff Jim O’Sullivan.
