The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association (VSA) extends its gratitude to Governor Glenn Youngkin for addressing the Dispatcher salary issue as proposed by the VSA. The Governor’s budget includes a 9.3% regrade for Dispatchers, a significant step in supporting these critical public safety professionals.
On December 18, 2024, Governor Youngkin submitted his proposed budget to the Virginia General Assembly. A summary of the proposals is available here. The VSA will be working with the General Assembly to ensure passage of the Dispatcher regrade. The General Assembly convenes on January 8, 2025.
