June was packed with professional accomplishments, community events, and celebrations for the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office. From promotions to graduations and community outreach, here’s a look back at the month’s highlights:

  • June 11 – Deputies Jonathan Laprade and Christopher Tucker graduated from the Cardinal Academy Basic Jailer class.
  • June 14 – Deputies joined the City of Covington’s Juneteenth community picnic.
  • June 21 – The Sheriff’s Office participated in the 6th Annual Back the Blue Car Show, helping raise scholarship funds for graduating seniors pursuing criminal justice degrees.
  • June 25 – Deputy Tre Clark was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Patrol Division.
  • June 27 – Investigator Travis Ledford graduated from the Virginia Forensic Science Academy.
  • June 27 – Deputy Sierra Cosby and Corporal David Creedon completed D.A.R.E. training, equipping them to deliver drug education and prevention programming to area youth.
  • June 29 – The Sheriff’s Office hosted its annual Summer Bash picnic for personnel.
