The Voice of Virginia’s Sheriffs & Deputies

The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office has been busy this summer connecting with the community through education, service, and recognition.

From July 28 to August 1, the Sheriff’s Office hosted its Virginia / CSO Rules Camp. Supported in part by a grant from the Attorney General’s Office, the camp provided young participants with hands-on experiences, safety lessons, and opportunities to engage with local law enforcement. Photos from the camp feature Attorney General Jason Miyares alongside the sheriff.

On August 7, the Keystone Tractor Museum in Colonial Heights opened its doors to honor local veterans, including those residing at the Virginia Hospital. Veterans enjoyed free access to the museum and a complimentary lunch, while the Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard presented the Colors and offered a hero’s welcome during the opening ceremony.

The following day, August 8, the Sheriff’s Office 41st Basic Academy hosted its first history run. Captain Fahy led recruits through a lesson on the Sheriff’s Office jail’s history, including photos of the old facility that was replaced by the current jail. These history runs are designed to instill pride in Chesterfield County and the Sheriff’s Office, helping to develop committed, long-term deputies who are deeply connected to their community and its rich heritage.
