The Virginia Department of Corrections’ three-year compliance audit of the Virginia Beach Correctional Center was completed on Thursday, and the VBSO passed with no deficiencies!
This comprehensive audit reviews 128 standards that cover every aspect of jail operations — from safety and security to administration, medical care, and training. Passing with no deficiencies means we continue to meet the highest state standards and are on track for re-certification by the Board of Local and Regional Jails on Nov. 18, 2025.
