Sheriff David D. Miles and his team at the Suffolk Sheriff’s Office earned their re-accreditation certification from the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC) on October 15th, 2025. This commission’s mission and goals are simple: to advance law enforcement professionalism through the foundation of professional standards and policies that increase the effectiveness, efficiency, cooperation, training, confidence, and trust in all law enforcement operations. This VLEPSC confirmation demonstrates that the Suffolk Sheriff’s Office is in full compliance of the 193 professional standards of law enforcement standards and practice set forth by the Commonwealth of Virginia and VLEPSC. The Suffolk Sheriff’s Office is honored to serve its community and takes pride in this certification.
