On December 28, 2025, King George County Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted by the ALPR system that a vehicle bearing stolen license plates had entered King George County.
Deputies coordinated efforts to locate the vehicle and observed it on Dahlgren Road (Rt 206) near the intersection of Kings Highway (Rt 3). The vehicle turned westbound onto Kings Highway (Rt 3), at which time Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle initially failed to stop and increased speed and fled.
A pursuit ensued, traveling on Kings Highway (Rt 3) turning onto Stanley Road, then onto Comorn Road (Rt 609), before returning to Kings Highway (Rt 3) and continuing Westbound on Kings Highway (Rt 3). The vehicle subsequently made a U-turn, traveled Eastbound Kings Highway (Rt 3), and entered oncoming traffic by driving Eastbound in the Westbound lanes of Kings Highway (Rt 3).
The driver continued to operate the vehicle in a reckless manner until turning onto Inaugural Drive, where the roadway dead ended. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The vehicle was later confirmed to be stolen out of Pennsylvania.
Deputies pursued and apprehended the suspect, who was identified as 19-year-old Leondro Neffal Ramirez Canales of Clinton, Maryland. Ramirez Canales was charged with possession of stolen property, felony eluding, and multiple reckless driving violations.
