On March 19, 2026, at approximately 3:00 a.m., a King George County Sheriff’s deputy was monitoring scanner traffic from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland when he overheard that a possible robbery suspect had left Maryland and entered King George County via the Harry Nice Bridge. The deputy positioned himself to monitor inbound traffic and observed a vehicle matching the description pass him at a very high rate of speed. He attempted to overtake the vehicle, which was traveling at well over 100 mph.
The deputy observed the fleeing vehicle run a traffic signal, causing him to slow and proceed with caution through the intersection. Another King George deputy observed the vehicle and initiated pursuit. The vehicle continued to accelerate to speeds exceeding 120 mph before losing control and crashing into a wooded area. After several commands, the driver was taken into custody. A firearm was recovered from the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen out of Loudoun County, Va. The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Daquan H. Flood of Temple Hills, Md. Flood was charged with, but not limited to, felony eluding, possession of a concealed weapon, and possession of a stolen vehicle. He is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
