Congratulations to the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, which has achieved its 4th consecutive state reaccreditation through the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC). The Sheriff’s Office first achieved state accreditation in 1998 and is the only Sheriff’s Office in Virginia to be dually accredited through VLEPSC and Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Participating in both processes is voluntary. The lead assessor stated “the assessment team was impressed with the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and the professionalism of both its sworn and non-sworn members. This agency clearly demonstrates a high level of commitment and dedication to law enforcement and the needs of the citizens they protect and serve.”
