Sheriff’s Roll Call: Petersburg Sheriff’s Office Holds 4th Annual Re-Entry Forum
On August 20, 2014, the Petersburg Sheriff’s Office held it’s 4th Annual Re-Entry Forum at Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Petersburg, VA. The purpose of the forum is to educate ex-offenders about the challenges of reintegrating into society after incarceration. The forum provides an opportunity for ex-offenders to connect with representatives from different
agencies that provide them with needed resources. It is also an opportunity for ex-offenders to meet with people with similar backgrounds who have become successful following their incarceration. The Petersburg Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Virginia Department of Corrections to stream the event live to nine Department of Corrections Facilities, which allowed over 1,000 additional people to view the event live.
