Bedford County Sheriff Mike Brown was on hand to present the 610th ballistic vest, courtesy of the Safe Surfin’ Foundation, to the Buena Vista Police Department. He recently presented vest number 600 to the Bath County Sheriff’s Office. These departments have received a total of 16 new ballistic vests donated to law enforcement officers by Sheriff Brown’s foundation and its ‘Protect the Protectors’ program. The organization is preparing to donate another 40 vests to officers throughout the United States.
