The Hampton Sheriff’s Office proudly announces its latest recruits to graduate from the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy in Newport News. They are members of Class 17-3, which completed 13 weeks of training in November. The class of 24 deputies represents agencies from throughout Hampton Roads and the Middle Peninsula. Deputies must complete more than 488 hours of training that requires each of them to master 424 state mandates of law enforcement training. That training includes defensive tactics and firearms to name a few. Deputy D. Lockley received the Top Gun Award (highest scores on the firing range) and the award for the highest physical fitness test scores during the 13 weeks of rigorous testing. Deputy T. Gorham received the Leadership Award.
