The Virginia Crime Stoppers Association, Inc. (VCSA) annual Training Symposium will center on classes designed to prevent crime and violence in schools through the use of anonymous tips. Crime Stoppers clubs in secondary and junior high schools are currently in several Virginia schools – but the VCSA is leading the effort to expand the successful crime fighting programs throughout the Commonwealth.

The two-day event will be held on Friday/Saturday, October 19/20, 2018 at the Virginia Beach Holiday Inn Resort, North Beach. Sworn law enforcement officers (LEO’s) will be presented with DCJS PIC-1 forms to obtain up to 8 hours of in-service credit.

Virginia Code § 22.1-280.2. School crime line defined; will be examined by current Crime Stoppers LEO’s and program educator/sponsors who will present success stories and methods on how to set up, manage, and operate Crime Stoppers (Crime Line; Crime Solvers) programs in a school environment. New technology using anonymous apps, on-line reporting, and confidential telephone lines will also be highlighted.
