The Voice of Virginia’s Sheriffs & Deputies

The Virginia Senate returned for a Special Session on Tuesday, June 18, to address two pieces of legislation to restore benefits to survivors of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.  The Virginia Sheriff’s Association supports both of these bills, SB 6006 and HB 6003, and urges members of the Senate and House of Delegates to support these two bills which continue already existing benefits to surviving families of LEOs killed in the line of duty. While the Senate failed to act during Tuesday’s Special Session, it is scheduled to return to Richmond on Friday, June 21.  The House of Delegates is scheduled to return the following Friday, June 28.  The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association will continue to keep you updated on this very important issue.
